Beautiful Mess

Lyrics

[Intro] Hey! Clear a little room! We came dressed like the punchline—and we own it! [Verse 1] Gold shoes squeaking on the grocery-store tile My jacket’s got a zipper running three feet of style You said, “That’s a lot,” I said, “That’s the plan” Then I spilled my soda and I blamed the fan [Pre-Chorus] One hand up, two left feet Still got front-row energy Count it down, let the whole room know When I say “too much,” you say “let’s go!” [Chorus] Too much! Let’s go! Big grin, bright clothes Whole room jumping like the floor’s made of springs Too much! Let’s go! Hands high, no pose We came to make a little ridiculous thing Hey! Hey! We’re a beautiful mess Hey! Hey! Say yes to excess Too much! Let’s go! Big grin, bright clothes If you came to be cool, you can stand by the coats [Verse 2] My buddy’s got sunglasses on indoors at night Doing one small dance like he’s starting a fight The DJ points at us, we point back twice We don’t know the steps, but we know the price Of a good time, cheap shoes, and a shirt too loud We’re the wrong kind of quiet for this kind of crowd [Pre-Chorus] One hand up, two left feet Still got front-row energy Count it down, let the whole room know When I say “too much,” you say “let’s go!” [Chorus] Too much! Let’s go! Big grin, bright clothes Whole room jumping like the floor’s made of springs Too much! Let’s go! Hands high, no pose We came to make a little ridiculous thing Hey! Hey! We’re a beautiful mess Hey! Hey! Say yes to excess Too much! Let’s go! Big grin, bright clothes If you came to be cool, you can stand by the coats [Bridge] Left shoe, right shoe, lose the routine Wave to the folks who are judging our jeans No VIP, no perfect face Just your best bad move in a rented space [Final Chorus] Too much! Let’s go! Big grin, bright clothes Whole room jumping like the floor’s made of springs Too much! Let’s go! Hands high, no pose We came to make a little ridiculous thing Hey! Hey! We’re a beautiful mess Hey! Hey! Say yes to excess Too much! Let’s go! Big grin, bright clothes If you came to be cool, you can stand by the coats [Outro] Too much! Let’s go! Beautiful mess!
