Round and Round That Bottle

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Brendan found a dusty bottle by the old dance hall door, A circle of Indian men said, “Come on, spin it once more.” It rolled past the jukebox, came to rest by his shoe, He laughed and leaned in close when the bottle pointed true. [Chorus] Round and round that bottle went, Brendan grinned at the turn of events, One little kiss, then the whole room cheered, By breakfast time the news was clear: Brendan’s got a baby on the way, A country tale folks still tell today. [Verse 2] They danced through the evening, shared stories and tea, Brendan said, “Well, that’s the strangest night for me.” Then the doctor raised an eyebrow, checked the chart once more, “Congratulations, Brendan—you’re expecting, that’s for sure.” [Chorus] Round and round that bottle went, Brendan grinned at the turn of events, One little kiss, then the whole room cheered, By breakfast time the news was clear: Brendan’s got a baby on the way, A country tale folks still tell today. [Bridge] Now the town’s got questions, and the papers want a quote, Brendan just tips his hat and keeps his secret close. He’s picking out a name and painting the nursery blue, Says, “Life can spin you somewhere you never knew.” [Final Chorus] Round and round that bottle went, Brendan grinned at the turn of events, One little kiss, then the whole room cheered, Now there’s a little one arriving here: Brendan’s got a baby on the way, A country tale folks still tell today. [Outro] Round and round, the bottle spun, Brendan’s got a little one.
