The Hatching of Legends

Lyrics

[Intro] [Deep] [Dwarven Voice] [Crackling Fire] [Distant Dragon] [Roar] In the mountains high, where the dragons sleep, There lies an egg that the ancients keep. Through fire and frost, through blood and stone, One foolish hero shall claim his own! [Dwarven Shout] "BY MURADIN'S BEARD! THAT EGG IS MOVIN'!" [Verse 1] [Adventurous] [Male Vocals] I rode through Stormwind, I sailed the seas, I fought a hundred murlocs up to my knees! From Orgrimmar's gates to Northrend's snow, I found a glowing egg with a fiery glow! The vendor said, "Don't touch that thing!" "The last fool tried, and it ate his king!" But I've got courage, and I've got pride, And a twenty-slot bag with an egg inside! [Pre-Chorus] [Rising Orchestra] The shamans whisper, the druids pray, The warlocks tell me to run away! But I shall stand, though the heavens crack, I've waited three days, and there's no turning back! [Chorus] [Massive Choir] [War Drums] HATCH! HATCH! HATCH THAT EGG! By the Light, don't make me beg! Through the fire and the ancient flame, Give me a dragon with a legendary name! CRACK! CRACK! BREAK THAT SHELL! From the depths of a dragon's hell! Let the mountains shake, let the heavens roar, I'm hatching eggs forevermore! (Choir) AZEROTH! AZEROTH! LET THE DRAGON RISE! [Verse 2] [Faster Rhythm] [Playful] [Dwarven Chorus] I took it to Ironforge, beside the forge, A dwarf named Brann said, "THAT THING'S ENORMOUS!" He gave it a hammer, he gave it a smack, Now the egg's turned purple, and it's staring back! I called a mage, he cast a spell, The egg grew legs and began to yell! The paladin screamed, "BY THE HOLY LIGHT!" As the egg chased a gnome through the tavern all night! [Pre-Chorus] [Elven Choir] [Rising] The dragons awaken, the stars align, A thousand-year prophecy says it's mine! The earth is shaking, the sky turns red, And the innkeeper shouts— "GET THAT THING OUT OF MY BED!" [Chorus] [Full Orchestra] [Choir] HATCH! HATCH! HATCH THAT EGG! By the Light, don't make me beg! Through the fire and the ancient flame, Give me a dragon with a legendary name! CRACK! CRACK! BREAK THAT SHELL! Ring the bells of Ironforge as well! Let the mountains shake, let the heavens roar, I'm hatching eggs forevermore! [Bridge – Epic] [Cinematic Build] [Music slows] [lone flute] [plays][Deep] [male narrator] And then... The shell began to tremble... The flames rose to the sky... The ancient dragons bowed their heads... As destiny opened its eyes... [Massive orchestral] [impact] [Shell cracking] CRAAAAACK! [Silence.] A tiny voice whispered... "Mrrrgl... mrrrgl... mrrrgl..." [Hero horrified] "WAIT... IS THAT A MURLOC?!" [Final Chorus] [Explosive] [Fantasy Metal] [Dwarven Choir] HATCH! HATCH! HATCH THAT EGG! I crossed all Azeroth, and now I beg! I fought through dungeons, fire, and pain, JUST TO HATCH A MURLOC AGAIN?! CRACK! CRACK! WHAT THE HELL?! Somebody cast a cleansing spell! No dragon mount, no legendary prize, JUST A BABY MURLOC WITH BIG BLUE EYES! (Choir chants] [triumphantly] MURLOC! MURLOC! KING OF THE SEA! THE LITTLE BLUE LEGEND BELONGS TO ME! [Outro] [Gentle] [Elven Choir] [Music Fading] And so the hero rode away, His mighty dreams gone astray. No dragon's fire, no wings of gold, Just a baby murloc to love and hold. [Baby] [murloc sounds] "Mrrrgl... mrrrgl..." [Dwarven Voice] "Ah, he's kinda cute, ain't he?" (Pause.) "WAIT! WHY'S HE EATIN' MY BOOTS?!" [Final] [Orchestral Hit] [MURRRRGL!]
