Jack and Eric

Lyrics

TEAM RAMROD — ONE MATCH AT A TIME Distorted slide guitar, heavy drums, deep Southern rap vocals [Spoken Intro] Northridge… Go ahead and post them pairings. Eric Rakestraw. Jack Surwald. We didn’t come for the goodie bag. Team Ramrod, motherfuckers. [Verse 1 — Rap] Truck rolls in with the speakers blown, Two bags in the back, boys a long way from home. Rakestraw steps out, puts his spikes on the ground, Jack says, “Let’s see what the fuss is about.” Little range dust, little coffee gone cold, First tee quiet when the starter says go. Eric sends a draw round the left-hand bend, Jack grins, “Boys, we’re gonna do that again.” Ain’t counting the trophy before we begin, Got eighteen holes just to earn that win. You can talk clubhouse, you can talk game— When the ball hits the cup, better say our names. [Chorus — Big Country Rock] ONE MATCH AT A TIME! One more putt, one more climb! Boot on the gas when it’s down to the wire, Jack’s got the ice, Eric’s bringing the fire! Northridge, better get ready tonight— TEAM RAMROD’S COMING, AND WE CAME TO FIGHT! Raise a little hell, let the big dogs eat— Making this tournament our bitch this week! [Verse 2 — Rap] Jack in the bunker, flag tucked tight, Opens that face, throws it up into flight. Checks up once, leaves a tap-in three, Eric’s already walking, “That’s a point for the team.” Next hole trouble, drive catches pine, Punch through the gap, keep the match alive. They’re standing there thinking we’re finally cooked— Then Rakestraw drains one they already took. No free holes and no laying down, Make ’em earn every inch of this damn golf ground. If my boy gets sideways, I’m holding the line— You don’t beat both of us at the same damn time. [Chorus] ONE MATCH AT A TIME! [Bridge — Half-Time, Gravelly Singing] Two down at the turn? Well, pour a little more. We’ve been in deep water, We’ve been here before. Jack says, “Stay patient.” Eric says, “Damn right.” Let ’em hear that Ramrod roar Coming down the back nine. [Breakdown — Crowd Chant] WHO’S ON THE TEE? — RAMROD! WHO’S STILL ALIVE? — RAMROD! HOW WE TAKING THIS THING? ONE! MATCH! AT! A! TIME! [Final Chorus — Full Band] ONE MATCH AT A TIME! Scratch another name off, move down the line! Hands getting steady as the stakes get higher, Jack’s got the ice, Eric’s bringing the fire! Northridge, you’re gonna remember these names— RAKESTRAW! SURWALD! RUNNING THIS GAME! Last putt drops, hear the whole crew scream— TEAM RAMROD, BABY—THAT’S A BADASS TEAM! [Spoken Outro] Shake their hands. Take the picture. Somebody get Jack a cold one. Northridge… You just got Ramrodded.
