Interesting

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Nikki checks the map against the dash Clayton finds the thermos in the back Troy’s already mad before we leave Says “ugh” at every turn we take [Pre-Chorus] We follow muddy tracks through pines He says the whole damn world’s unkind Then laughs like nothing’s wrong at all And asks if anybody brought a wall [Chorus] Hunting with Nikki, Clayton, and Troy One loud mess of girls and boys He’s mad, he’s sad, then “ugh” again “Interesting,” like it explains We miss the trail, we lose the light Still ride together through the night [Verse 2] Clayton swears he saw a shape move by Nikki points and tells him that’s a pine Troy takes one sip, starts picking fights Then says “interesting” three times [Pre-Chorus] The cold comes crawling through our sleeves We trade old stories, half-believe Troy says he’s fine, then shakes his head And sulks beside the truck instead [Chorus] Hunting with Nikki, Clayton, and Troy One loud mess of girls and boys He’s mad, he’s sad, then “ugh” again “Interesting,” like it explains We miss the trail, we lose the light Still ride together through the night [Bridge] Nikki says, “Come on, we’re heading home” Clayton packs the gear, we leave the road Troy stares out at the fields and sighs Then says, “That sunset’s interesting,” surprised [Final Chorus] Hunting with Nikki, Clayton, and Troy Bad moods, cold hands, and too much noise He’s mad, he’s sad, then “ugh” again “Interesting,” our refrain No prize, no tale to brag about Just us piled in, still laughing loud [Outro] Nikki, Clayton, Troy and me Same old crew, same muddy feet
