DJ Floyd

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Clock in at Publix, got a long night ahead, Shrimp in the steamer, order tickets to be read. I’m focused on the counter, trying to get it right, Then DJ pops around the corner—nearly took my life! Man, I almost dropped the tongs, you’re laughing way too hard, You oughta clock those jump scares on a separate time card. But once my heart slows down, I gotta give you credit, You make a rough shift better, even if I won’t admit it. [Chorus] DJ Floyd, yeah, you got me good, Jumped from the corner like I knew you would. I’m back on the counter, trying to keep my poise, A long shift’s never quiet with DJ Floyd. DJ Floyd, yeah, I’ll say it out loud, You make the whole crew laugh and draw a crowd. I’ll watch my step next time you appear— But you make a rough shift better around here. [Verse 2] Tickets keep on printing, the line keeps moving fast, I’m guarding every corner when you’re walking past. You grin like you’ve got something hiding up your sleeve, I’m watching every doorway now; you won’t catch me naïve. [Bridge] So put that prank beside the punch clock, let the laughter carry on, We’ll make it through the dinner rush and joke about it when it’s gone. I may jump a little every time you come in view, But the shift would drag without a laugh from you. [Final Chorus] DJ Floyd, yeah, you got me good, Jumped from the corner like I knew you would. I’m back on the counter, trying to keep my poise, A long shift’s never quiet with DJ Floyd. DJ Floyd, yeah, now I’ll say it clear, You make a rough shift better around here. I’ll watch my step next time you appear— But save one more laugh for the crew back here. [Outro] DJ Floyd, yeah—just give me a warning, At least before the next shift’s early morning.
