awerysopelea - who put the moon on shuffle

Lyrics

[Intro] Tick-tick, the clock skips, the last bus blinks goodbye. Somebody found the ceiling switch and shuffled up the sky. [Verse 1] The diner stacks its silver chairs while rain taps out a crooked beat. A cat conducts the crossing lights beneath the pharmacy. The moon wears half a crooked grin, then swaps it for a paper crown. I came to take the long way home— now every roof is turning round. [Pre-Chorus] Blink once, the street goes red, blink twice, it’s cobalt blue. The moon picks up the downbeat and the whole town follows through. [Chorus] Who put the moon on shuffle? La luna cambia de canción. Turn it up, let the whole sky stumble, baila hasta que salga el sol. Half a face, then a silver grin, skip that track, let another in. Who put the moon on shuffle? La luna cambia de canción. [Verse 2] The laundromat’s a little planet, with socks in orbit round the floor. My shadow took the shortcut and beat me to the corner store. The rooftops try on silver hats, the stars lean down to hear the bass. I lose my map, I lose my plan— let the wrong turn set the pace. [Pre-Chorus] Every window catches blue, every puddle catches gold. The moon skips past the signal like it hates to do what it’s told. [Bridge] Wait— did the whole sky skip? The rooftops hold their breath. The moon lifts the needle— one star whispers, “Oops.” [Final Chorus] Who put the moon on shuffle? La luna cambia de canción. Turn it up, let the whole sky stumble, baila hasta que salga el sol. Half a face, then a silver grin, skip that track, let another in. Who put the moon on shuffle? La luna cambia de canción. [Outro] Ta-ta-ta, the needle spins, la-la-luna, pull us in. One more skip, one more view— maybe the moon put us on shuffle too.
