Nuts or Bananas

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Joe leaned back and told Karina, “That sounds like a you problem,” She blinked across the table while the piano kept it rolling. He said, “You’re nuts or bananas,” with a grin he couldn’t hide, Then opened up an article and read the whole thing line by line. [Pre-Chorus] Nuts and bananas, page after page, Joe kept on reading like a professor on a stage. Karina shook her head, but she heard every word, And the horns answered back when the punch line was heard. [Chorus] Karina, Latin pop, you’re off for two days, Go celebrate your anniversary in your own sweet way. Twenty-seven years, let the good times begin, You’ll remember what Joe told you with a laugh and a grin. [Verse 2] She said, “I’ll remember that,” and lifted up her glass, Twenty-seven years together—what a story, what a class. Joe closed the article; the last page hit the floor, Karina was already dancing, asking, “Read me one more!” [Pre-Chorus] Nuts and bananas, page after page, Now the whole room’s laughing as the brass takes the stage. Two days off, and a reason to cheer, She’s carrying Joe’s words into another bright year. [Chorus] Karina, Latin pop, you’re off for two days, Go celebrate your anniversary in your own sweet way. Twenty-seven years, let the good times begin, You’ll remember what Joe told you with a laugh and a grin. [Bridge] “Maybe I’m bananas, maybe Joe’s just got a point,” She said, and tapped the rhythm with her glass against the joint. But twenty-seven years have taught her what is true: A little teasing, a lot of love, and a dance or two. [Final Chorus] Karina, Latin Pop, you’re off for two days, Go celebrate your anniversary in your own sweet way. Twenty-seven years, let the good times begin, You’ll remember what Joe told you with a laugh and a grin. [Outro] Nuts or bananas, Joe read every line, Karina's anniversary party is right on time! Two days off, twenty-seven years, Karina Latin Pop, raise a toast and cheer!
