Private Number

Lyrics

[Intro] Phone screen glowing in the middle of the night No name showing, just a shadow in the light You call from hidden lines cause you can't face the truth I hear the ringing and it leads right back to you [Verse 1] Zeroes on the caller ID, zero accountability Trying to slip into my atmosphere so quietly You think a blocked ID is gonna mask the tone? I know the cadence of your breathing through the phone Left your ego at the door, brought your quiet pride Calling private cause you got nowhere left to hide [Chorus) Private number calling late again You act so distant, but you're giving in No name displayed, but I know who it is Nobody else leaves a silence like this Yeah, private number on my screen tonight You only reach out when you turn off the light [Verse 2] I let it ring three times just to watch you wait Counting down the seconds while you contemplate You won't leave a message, won't leave a trace Too scared to look me face-to-face Got five digits hidden, but your heart is clear You only call private when you're full of fear [Chorus] Private number calling late again You act so distant, but you're giving in No name displayed, but I know who it is Nobody else leaves a silence like this Yeah, private number on my screen tonight You only reach out when you turn off the light [Bridge] Press decline, let it go to tone If you want my time, speak up on your own No anonymous late night games Say it out loud, use your real name [Outro] Screen fades dark, room stays still If you won't claim it, I never will Private number... Just a sound in the dark (Fade out)
