Closer to the Edge

Lyrics

[Intro] [Instrumental: melodic harmonized downtuned guitar lead] [Verse 1] You draw the curtains, bolt the door Cold silver rings against the floor Your quiet dare cuts through the room I take one step into the gloom [Pre-Chorus] You say my name, then hold your breath A velvet promise edged with threat [Chorus] Pull me closer to the edge Make the promise, make the pledge In the dark, your eyes command I come alive beneath your hand [Verse 2] Black lace caught upon the chair Your steady gaze says stay right there A slow grin, then a sharpened look You close the distance; I’m unhooked [Chorus] Pull me closer to the edge Make the promise, make the pledge In the dark, your eyes command I come alive beneath your hand [Middle] [Instrumental: hard melodic harmonized guitar leads] [Bridge] You set the pace, I meet your stare No soft retreat, no borrowed prayer Say when to stop; say when to stay I choose the fire either way [Final Chorus] Pull me closer to the edge Make the promise, make the pledge In the dark, your eyes command I come alive beneath your hand [Outro] [Instrumental: hard downtuned riff and melodic guitar finale]
