Poltergeist, Poltergeist

Lyrics

[Intro] Poltergeist, poltergeist Who moved the room tonight? [Verse 1] Your coat fell off the chair again The kitchen clock says half past ten I left the hallway lamp turned on Now every little thing is gone A paper crown upon the stairs A cold handprint that wasn’t there You say the house is settling down Then something taps the ceiling loud [Pre-Chorus] One knock, two knocks, count to three Something’s playing hide-and-seek Hold your breath, don’t turn around There’s a little guest without a sound [Chorus] Poltergeist, poltergeist, dancing in the room Tiptoe, spin around, then disappear too soon Poltergeist, poltergeist, stealing every light If you’re gonna haunt me, do it right tonight Hey! Shake the picture, rattle the door Hey! Leave your little footprints on the floor Poltergeist, poltergeist, come and take a bow You’re the life of this haunted house now [Verse 2] The radio just learned my name The mirror’s smiling just the same A stack of books begins to fly I duck; they make a perfect line You tug my sleeve, I chase the clue A silver spoon goes sailing through I’m almost scared, but honestly You’ve got great choreography [Pre-Chorus] One knock, two knocks, count to three Something’s playing hide-and-seek Hold your breath, don’t turn around There’s a little guest without a sound [Chorus] Poltergeist, poltergeist, dancing in the room Tiptoe, spin around, then disappear too soon Poltergeist, poltergeist, stealing every light If you’re gonna haunt me, do it right tonight Hey! Shake the picture, rattle the door Hey! Leave your little footprints on the floor Poltergeist, poltergeist, come and take a bow You’re the life of this haunted house now [Bridge] No chains, no scream, no tragic tale Just one more ghost with style to spare So when the midnight shadows lean We’ll turn this place into a scene Count it down, the walls reply Three, two, one—we’re both up high [Final Chorus] Poltergeist, poltergeist, dancing in the room Tiptoe, spin around, then disappear too soon Poltergeist, poltergeist, stealing every light If you’re gonna haunt me, do it right tonight Hey! Shake the picture, rattle the door Hey! Leave your little footprints on the floor Poltergeist, poltergeist, come and take a bow You’re the life of this haunted house now [Outro] Poltergeist, poltergeist Who moved the room tonight? Poltergeist, poltergeist See you next Halloween
