Australia what has happened to you? What the hell is going on? Social cohesion has vanished, and respect for opinion is gone! So I wrote this little ballad, the words I sing are true, Australia has lost it's beauty, nothing in it true blue! Polarised politics, inability to even share a thought, Death threats sent to people, police aware but nobody caught. And in our nation's capital, politicians lie and they scheme, Incentivising useful idiots, it's enough to make you scream. How did we even get here? When did we lose control? At what point did we all decide, to just throw away our soul! People are filled with hate now, disagreement is now a crime, How I wish for just one moment, we could just go back in time. Back to a time where there were no machetes, no threats of death for speech, Where people could have a different opinion, when friendship was still within reach. To a time when people listened, to a time when respect was king, Where people would allow free speech, even if those words would cause a sting. But those times are long forgotten, Australia is not the same, Our identity is changing quickly, and the government is to blame. They let in just anyone now, no checking on what they do, Remember the Bondi massacre, they're the kind of people they let through. Our streets and towns are changing, violence found in every place, But we're not allowed to call it out, if we do then we vilify a certain race. So crime gets a free pass, but you and I are bound, We're nothing but useful idiots, not permitted to make a sound. And if you ignore the government, and you speak up for all to hear, They'll label you an extremist, because it's the truth you speak they fear. Australia never used to be this way, Australia was the land of the free, But Australia now is changing, and not for you and me. If we don't stand up now, if we just let this continue on, In the few short years ahead of us, we'll see this country gone. We won't recognise our cities, our streets will turn to grey, And we'll all be under a law not ours, just like the grand old U K.
