When the Stars Align

Lyrics

[Verse 1] The room goes quiet, the curtains breathe A silver line moves across the sea I keep your promise folded in my hand And count the miles I still can stand [Pre-Chorus] When the long night loosens its hold And the heavens turn their maps of gold [Chorus] When the stars align, I will be there Through the falling hush, through the open air If the whole sky breaks into blue I will find my way back to you When the stars align, beyond all fear Past the last dark hour, I will appear Hold that thought and let it carry you When the stars align, I’ll come through [Verse 2] The old clock stumbles, then starts again Rain draws rivers along the windowpane I hear your name in the turning year A small, sure flame that keeps me near [Pre-Chorus] When the long night loosens its hold And the heavens turn their maps of gold [Chorus] When the stars align, I will be there Through the falling hush, through the open air If the whole sky breaks into blue I will find my way back to you When the stars align, beyond all fear Past the last dark hour, I will appear Hold that thought and let it carry you When the stars align, I’ll come through [Bridge] Let every distance lose its name Let every road bend back the same You don’t have to call twice I’m already on my way [Final Chorus] When the stars align, I will be there With the first warm dawn, with your hand in mine If the whole sky breaks into blue I will find my way back to you When the stars align, beyond all fear Past the last dark hour, I will appear Keep your heart where the morning comes through When the stars align, I’ll come through [Outro] When the stars align I will be there
