Let the Good Dogs Roll

Lyrics

[Intro] Dj Jacks, open up the shop Got a little tail-wag business on the block [Verse 1] D-J Jacks with the keys on a ring Fresh blue bandana, got the whole place sing At the pet shop counter, got a scoop and a grin Little paw prints dancing every time folks walk in Got a bowl by the window, got a leash on display Got a pup named Biscuit who keeps stealing my tray I say, “Easy, little buddy, that’s a treat, not a meal” He just tilts his head like he knows the deal [Chorus] Dj Jacks, let the good dogs roll Tail going left while they cruise real slow From the front door mat to the back-yard gate If you’re looking for a friend, don’t be late Dj Jacks, let the good dogs roll Big heart, little paws, everybody’s whole [Verse 2] There’s a seller off Dream with a cart full of toys Rubber ducks, rope knots, little squeaky decoys He says, “Pick one out,” and the pups make a line One grabs a red ball, says, “This one’s mine” Old man Lou brings his terrier in every week Says the shop keeps him laughing when the days feel bleak We swap tall tales while the kettle runs hot And the smallest dog in town gets the biggest spot [Chorus] Dj Jacks, let the good dogs roll Tail going left while they cruise real slow From the front door mat to the back-yard gate If you’re looking for a friend, don’t be late Dj Jacks, let the good dogs roll Big heart, little paws, everybody’s whole [Bridge] One bowl, two bowls, make room by the door A new best friend waiting on the shop-floor No fancy talk, just a warm hello And a little four-legged reason to take it slow [Verse 3] When the sun dips low, I sweep up the floor Put the last leash back and I lock the door Biscuit’s curled up by the cardboard stack Dreaming of that red ball he carried out back Tomorrow we’re open, come by with a smile We’ll find your new buddy in a little while Dj Jacks on the corner, where the good days start Selling toys and friendship, one wag at a heart [Chorus] Dj Jacks, let the good dogs roll Tail going left while they cruise real slow From the front door mat to the back-yard gate If you’re looking for a friend, don’t be late Dj Jacks, let the good dogs roll Big heart, little paws, everybody’s whole [Outro] Dj Jacks, shop lights dim Good dogs home, and the night rolls in
