Trick or Ghost

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Halloween on Earlham Way, The Earlham boys have dressed the place. Pink panther paws across the floor, A creak goes racing through the door. Tommy Bandit checks the latch, Joshy’s got the candy stash. Cliffy peeks behind the chair, Jonny says, “There’s something there!” [Chorus] Knock, knock—who’s brave enough? The porch is dark, the night is rough. Little treaters, one by one, Will they make it? Has anyone? Casper’s drifting through the vent— A chilly little houseguest, heaven-sent! Knock, knock—don’t be slow… The Earl Hemway house says, “Trick or ghost!” [Verse 2] The heater rattles, curtains sway, A pale white face floats into play. Casper slips out, smooth as steam, And Tommy yelps, “That wasn’t me!” Joshy guards the chocolate bowl, Cliffy’s laughing, more or less. Jonny points toward the front step— A tiny shadow’s closing in. [Chorus] Knock, knock—who’s brave enough? The porch is dark, the night is rough. Little treaters, one by one, Will they make it? Has anyone? Casper’s drifting through the vent— A chilly little houseguest, heaven-sent! Knock, knock—don’t be slow… The Earl Hemway house says, “Trick or ghost!” [Bridge] The door swings wide—the porch is still. A basket waits beside the sill. One small voice says, “Candy, please!” Casper floats down with a gentle breeze. [Final Chorus] Knock, knock—now they’re brave enough! The boys hand out the candy stuff. Little treaters laugh and run, Nobody lost—well, almost one! Casper waves from the heating vent, The pink panther crew is finally content. Knock, knock—the night says, “Go!” Earlham Way’s got one more ghost! [Outro] The door clicks shut, the heater sighs… Two glowing eyes. Surprise, surprise.
