Miss Me Out Loud

Lyrics

[Verse 1] You left your blue cooler by the county line With a note that said, “Keep the good stuff cold” I found your sunglasses in my passenger seat And your last five dollars in the console The diner waitress asked if you were coming back I said, “Honey, I don’t know” Then your old dog climbed up on the bench beside me Like he had somewhere else to go [Pre-Chorus] I could take the long way home tonight Past the turn where we said goodbye [Chorus] If you’re gonna miss me, miss me out loud Let the whole town know when you turn around If you’re gonna love me, love me like you mean it Don’t leave one boot on the porch and one foot leaving We had a little bit of forever, a whole lot of now If you’re gonna miss me, miss me out loud [Verse 2] Your mama still waves when she sees my truck I wave back like I’ve got it together There’s a storm rolling in over Miller’s field And your jacket’s still here for the weather I drove by the river where we skipped those stones One sank, one made it three I used to swear that one was lucky Now I’m not so sure about me [Pre-Chorus] I could take the long way home tonight Past the turn where we said goodbye [Chorus] If you’re gonna miss me, miss me out loud Let the whole town know when you turn around If you’re gonna love me, love me like you mean it Don’t leave one boot on the porch and one foot leaving We had a little bit of forever, a whole lot of now If you’re gonna miss me, miss me out loud [Bridge] That cooler’s in the backseat, the night’s still young The road runs straight where the old bridge bends You can call it a mistake, call it what you want But I’d take that long way home again [Final Chorus] If you’re gonna miss me, miss me out loud Let the whole town know when you turn around If you’re gonna love me, love me like you mean it Don’t leave one boot on the porch and one foot leaving We had a little bit of forever, a whole lot of now If you’re gonna miss me, miss me out loud Yeah, if you’re gonna miss me, miss me out loud [Outro] Blue cooler, county line Miss me out loud tonight
