Mother of Ice

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Beyond the forests, beyond the snow, Where frozen rivers cease to flow, I saw a figure, still and white, My mother standing in the night. Her silver crown, her frozen eyes, A thousand winters in disguise. I reached for her with trembling hands, As if my heart had always known. [Pre-Chorus] I placed my hand inside her own, And felt a cold I’d always known. Then suddenly, her fingers moved, And all the ice inside me grew. [Chorus] Mother, Mother, hear my call, You are my shield, my endless snow, The only home I’ve ever known. And though the world may turn away, Your winter heart will let me stay. [MOTHER SPEAKS – soft, ethereal female voice] You were never lost, my daughter. You were always a part of me. [Verse 2] You never lost me in the night, You watched me wander from the light. You let me fall, you let me roam, But never closed the way back home. You knew the cold was in my veins, You knew the silence held my pain. And when I finally reached your hand, You showed me where I truly stand. [Chorus] Mother, Mother, hear my call, You are the shelter through it all. No earthly love could take your place, No storm could make me leave this place. You are my shield, my endless snow, The only home I’ve ever known. And though the world may turn away, Your winter heart will let me stay. [Bridge – soft, haunting female vocals] You are untouched by pain and time, Yet somehow your heart speaks to mine. You carry winters I cannot see, And share your frozen soul with me. We do not seek what others find, A different love, a different kind. Beyond the world, beyond its call, Your love is stronger than it all. [Final Chorus – powerful Nordic female vocals] Mother! Mother! I have come home! No longer lost, no more alone. You are the strength I couldn’t find, The frozen world that lives inside. You are my shield, my endless snow, The place my wandering heart can go. I was never lost to you, I was only coming home to you. [Outro – whispered] I was never lost, Mother. I was coming home.
