Minecraft voice changer

Minecraft voice changer for proximity chat

Talk like a Minecraft villager, a horror-movie killer, or a cartoon sponge in proximity chat. Voices AI Live converts your microphone with AI before your voice mod or Discord picks it up.

Works with Minecraft: Java Edition voice mods such as Simple Voice Chat and Plasmo Voice, and with Discord, on Windows 10+ and Apple Silicon Macs. Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.

How to use a voice changer in Minecraft

1

Install Voices AI Live

Download the free app for Windows or Mac and accept the virtual microphone install. Restart if your computer asks you to.

2

Pick a voice

Preview the voices in the app - or clone your own from a 5-second recording - and select one.

3

Select the mic in your voice mod

In Simple Voice Chat press V to open voice settings and choose CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable) on Windows or Voices AI Virtual Mic on Mac. Using Discord instead? Set it under Voice & Video.

4

Join the server and talk

Walk up to other players - with proximity chat, people nearby hear your AI voice.

Does Minecraft have voice chat?

Not built in. Java Edition players use proximity-chat mods like Simple Voice Chat or Plasmo Voice, where you hear players who are near you in the world. Bedrock players usually talk on Discord or in an Xbox party. Each of these just needs a microphone, so Voices AI Live works with all of them on PC and Mac.

Simple Voice Chat has to be installed on the server and on your client. If you join a server without it, use Discord for voice instead.

Proximity chat + AI voices

Proximity chat is where a voice changer shines. Wander into a village as a villager, haunt a horror map as Ghostface, or give every character on a roleplay SMP its own voice. Switch voices in Voices AI Live without leaving the server.

Minecraft voice changer not working? Quick fixes

Simple Voice Chat shows no microphone

Start Voices AI Live before Minecraft, then pick the device again in the voice settings (V). On Mac, allow microphone access for your Minecraft launcher in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.

Nobody can hear me on the server

The server needs the same voice mod installed. Check the mod's connection status, or use Discord for voice.

The voice sounds robotic, choppy, or cuts out

Turn off extra noise suppression in the app you are talking in, close GPU-heavy programs you are not using, and check your computer meets the Voices AI Live system requirements.

Other people hear an echo or their own voice

Use headphones. Speaker audio leaking into your real microphone gets converted and sent back to everyone.

Questions about this setup

Does it work with Minecraft Bedrock, console, or Pocket Edition?

Bedrock has no built-in voice chat, so pair it with Discord or an Xbox app party on the same Windows PC. Consoles and phones are not supported.

Does it work on Realms?

Realms cannot run voice mods, so use Discord for voice and select the Voices AI microphone there.

Is the voice changer free?

Yes. Voices AI Live is free to download and includes free voices. Premium unlocks the rest of the voice library for $9.99/month or $59.99/year.

Which voice mods work?

Any mod or app that lets you pick a microphone, including Simple Voice Chat and Plasmo Voice.

Is Voices AI Live an official Minecraft app?

No. Voices AI is not affiliated with Minecraft. Voices AI Live works as a virtual microphone that you select in Minecraft's audio settings, the same way you would pick a USB headset.

Is my voice uploaded anywhere?

No. Voice conversion runs locally on your computer. Nothing is recorded or sent to a server - your audio goes straight from Voices AI Live to the app you are using.
